Google appoints new UK Communications head
Google has recruited BBC Newsnight editor Peter Barron as Head of Communications and Public Affairs for the UK, Ireland and Benelux regions. He will fill the position left vacant by the promotion of David-John Collins to Director of Communications and Public Affairs for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Barron has been editor of Newsnight since 2004.
He has also worked as Deputy Editor on Tonight with Trevor McDonald on Channel 4. He is expected to join Google in September and will report to David-John Collins
